Merlot 2009 The Street

Welcome the stranger at your door and enjoy this wine with wild venison with an orange rind and duck liver sauce . The wine shows red plum, cinnamon and chocolate on the nose. The palate has direction and length helped along by 30% whole bunch inclusion during ferment. After the fires of February 7th 2009 when our vineyard was burnt out we had no fruit so we purchased merlot for this wine from Philip Island and the Seville area of the Yarra Valley. Thanks to David Lance and Graeme Ross for providing the fruit for this wine.
